Subject: PITCH: The Little Theater hosts graduating student film screening event

Body:

Hi Mr. Battaglia,

To celebrate the work of filmmakers, The Little Theater is set to host a special screening featuring the work of graduating seniors from local colleges including RIT, MCC, St John Fisher, and University of Rochester.

Students have been given the opportunity to submit a film and the theater will select a handful of films from those submitted to showcase. Audience members will be able to vote on their favorite film and the winner will be awarded a cash prize as well as a voucher for a free movie ticket to a show at The Little Theater.

Our executive director would be happy to sit down with you to discuss the event further and provide additional details about the value of celebrating local young artists’ work.

Sincerely,

About The Little Theater

‍ ‍

The Little Theater was founded in 1929 as part of The Little Cinema Movement. An effort across New York State to create a chain of local independent movie theaters that would showcase independent and experimental movies that were not shown in the mainstream movie theaters.

‍The Little Theater in Rochester, NY is the sole remaining theater from The Little Cinema Movement. In 2012 the theater merged with local public broadcasting affiliate WXXI in a parent-subsidiary relationship ensuring the theaters’ continued survival. The theater has endured almost ten centuries thanks to the continued support of local movie goers. To learn more visit
